Emily and Alex are currently working on a challenging Duet:”Libertango”. It is a word coined by Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla, combining “Libertad” (Spanish for liberty) and “tango”. Its meaning signifies Piazzolla’s departure from traditional tango to his innovative style, Tango Nuevo, symbolizing freedom for his musicians and the music itself. The 1974 composition marks Piazzolla’s break from classical tango to a more modern, jazz-influenced style.
