Recently a lady in the audience said that she really enjoyed hearing me playing a song. Somehow that seems to me so much better than being told that I played well. Like, not only was I good, but I was good enough that she got joy from hearing me.

I have been learning piano with Mr. Hanspeter for about eleven years, and it has been the heart of my musical journey. Piano taught me discipline, creativity, and self-expression, and it gave me the confidence to explore other opportunities — including playing the French Horn for my high school band.

As a high school senior, I’m preparing to move into a new chapter of my life, but the lessons I’ve learned through music will stay with me wherever I go. Beyond music, I enjoy spending time with my puppy, Latte, and exploring new ideas through reading and conversation. I am grateful for Mr. Hanspeter’s guidance and excited to carry my love for music into the future.
